A shop floor is a public place with mirrors in it, and for a good number of people that is enough to make buying clothes something they simply stop doing. We started opening early for one customer in 2016 who could not manage a Saturday. It is now about forty appointments a year and the single most requested thing we offer.

You get the whole of 13 Tsakalof — both floors, the fitting room, and whichever two of us you have asked for. It is the same shop, the same stock and the same prices. The only difference is that nobody else is in it.

A body that has changed

After illness, after a birth, after a year that did what it did. Nobody comments and nobody hovers. We measure once, quietly, and work from that.

Sensory reasons

Lights on the lower setting, music off, and the door locked. We will tell you in advance exactly who will be in the building.

Something that matters

A wedding, a court appearance, a first day. Anything where trying it on in front of strangers is not the mood you want to be in.

Not wanting to be seen

Athens is a village and Kolonaki is one street of it. We do not keep a visitor book and we do not photograph anything without asking.

A man buying a gift

Overwhelmingly the Thursday-before-Christmas booking. Bring a photograph and a garment she already owns; we will do the rest.

Time, mostly

Ninety minutes in an empty shop does the work of three Saturdays, which is why half the bookings come from people with no difficulty at all.

Times and terms

Appointments run 09:00 to 10:00 and 20:00 to 21:00, Monday to Saturday. There is no charge, no deposit and no minimum, and you can cancel by text an hour before without anybody minding. We ask for a phone number only so we can tell you if Konstantinos is off sick and the alteration you were counting on cannot happen that day.

If you need it outside those hours — and people occasionally do, for reasons they do not have to give — ask. Sofia holds the diary and has said yes to a Sunday more than once.
